A plain brown bird, the Northern Rough-winged Swallow is fairly common across the United States in summer. The species derives its name from the outer wing feathers, which have small hooks or points on their leading edges. A plain looking swallow, but a pretty bird none the less.
These swallows are only here during the summer so you got to keep you eye's pealed during the hot months to catch a glimpse of this fast flying bird!
